Iranian movie ‘Paradise’ has been set to vie at the 2018 Switzerland International Film Festival (SIFF), bringing the number of Ali Atshani’s movies taking part in the event to two.
Directed by Ali Atshani, the Iran-Germany joint production will take part in the competition section of the event later this month.
‘Paradise’ narrates the story of two seminary students who wish to attend an academic seminar on religions in Germany. Their teacher, however, doesn't give them the permission to do so.
The two young men convince the teacher to even go with them, though. Now the three are on a mission to show the true face of Islam to the world.
The film stars Iranian actors Mohammad-Javad Ezzati and Mehran Rajabi as well as Olivia Burkhart from Germany.
In addition to ‘Paradise’, Atshani’s flick ‘Wishbone’ will also participate at the competition section of the SIFF.
‘Wishbone’ compares and contrasts the ups and downs experienced by a fired coach who meets a girl he previously knew. Iranian stars Mitra Hajjar, Hossein Yari and Azadeh Mehdizadeh have appeared in the movie.
The 2018 edition of the SIFF is slated for December 17-21.
